According to a press release at Emmys.com on Monday, March 26, 2012, Jimmy Kimmel will host the upcoming 64th Primetime Emmy Awards night, which will be the first time for the American comedian-host.

As noted on the report, the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live‘ host will follow the footstep of namesake Jimmy Fallon and Glee‘s Jane Lynch, who hosted the event in 2010 and 2011, respectively, and will work with director-producer Don Mischer as the executive producer of the event for the 12th time.

“We are thrilled to have been asked to produce the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.” Mischer was quoted in the press release; who has won 15 Emmy Awards, ten trophies for the Directors Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, among others.

“We love television and look forward to working with the Television Academy and ABC in creating a show that is fast-paced, humorous, unpredictable, and at times irreverent, but clearly celebratory of our incredible industry.” Mischer added.

Apparently, Kimmel, who is also being set to host the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner in April, has previously hosted the American Music Awards and ESPY Awards, with his show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live‘ also at ABC is now on its tenth season.
