Buttitta sued Vito Salerno for nearly the $100,000 she allegedly spent in preparation for their wedding. Her expenses include a $30,000 banquet hall rental, $10,000 for an orchestra, $5,000 for her gown and more than $10,000 for flowers and lighting.

According to ABC News, the lawsuit was filed in Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. The lawsuit also include claims for “severe emotional distress” and a breach of promise to marry.

According to civil attorney John Zielinski, Buttitta has a good chance of recovering the documented expenses due to an Illinois’ “breach of promise” to marry law.

However, damages for emotional distress is not likely to be awarded. “Illinois has limited recovery to actual damages so you can’t complain about extra damages,” Zielinski told ABC News.
