Jessica Simpson gave birth on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 to a healthy baby girl named Maxwell Drew Johnson, with the actress announcing it on her official website via a pink note, as shown the photo below.

Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. 21 3/4,” Jessica Simpson wrote at JessicaSimpson.com that day, with the note having tiny footprints in the middle.

“We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!” The singer turned fashion mogul added; who according to a source of E! Online gave birth via C-section.

Apparently, the same source added that Jessica and her fiance Eric Johnson arrived at the unnamed hospital in Los Angeles at around 6 a.m. that morning (local time) and were followed closely by their family members at 6:30 a.m.

As reported earlier, Jessica Simpson announced her pregnancy last October 31 via her official Twitter account, and even posted a photo of her holding her baby bump while wearing a Halloween costume of a mummy.

Simpson, 31, and Johnson, 32, who reportedly started dating in May 2010, announced their engagement in November of the same year, with the couple not yet announcing their wedding date since then although it is among their plans.

“I want him to be my husband so bad. I do still want to wear the pretty gown and everything, and I have to wait till after the baby. Now she’ll just be in the wedding,” Simpson told Jay Leno on his NBC‘s ‘The Tonight Show’ last March.
