According to an announcement by PBS on its official website recently, Jessica Sanchez is among the top entertainers to perform on the annual free event, honoring the military service and sacrifice of all American men and women in uniform.

As noted in the report, Jessica Sanchez will also sing “The Prayer”, a song by Celine Dion which she also sang during the Final Judgment in the early part of the American Idol 2012 show before the announcement of the Top 25.

Sanchez, 16, who received a standing ovation from the judges last Wednesday during the American Idol 2012 Top 4 performance night when she sang “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going”, is currently being dubbed as a strong contender to be the American Idol Season 11 winner.

Meanwhile, among other entertainers who will perform at 2012 National Memorial Day Concert include Natalie Cole, Trace Adkins, American Idol Season 5 alumni Chris Daughtry, and others, with the event to be hosted by actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise; and will be broadcast live on PBS.
