Jessica Sanchez had a duet with fellow finalist Joshua Ledet during the American Idol 2012 Top 8 performance night on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, as shown in the video below.

As featured at Fox on Wednesday night, Jessica and Joshua sang ‘I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)’ by Aretha Franklin and George Michael, to the delight of the crowd as the three judges as well.

Apparently, the remaining American Idol 2012 Top 8 finalists were also divided into four duets, with each pair singing songs from the 80s, besides singing individually, where Jessica Sanchez sang Whitney Houston‘s How Will I Know’.

That night, Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine sang ‘Islands in the Stream’, a duet by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton; while Hollie Cavanagh and DeAndre Brackensick performed The Pointer Sisters‘ ‘I’m So Excited’.

On the other hand, Phillip Phillips and Elise Testone sang ‘Stop Dragging My Heart Around’, a song originally performed by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty.

Meanwhile, Sanchez, 16, a Filipino-American, did not receive did not receive a standing ovation from the three judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson, and Steven Tyler this time, but received inspiring comments.
