According to ABS-CBN News on Monday, May 1, 2012, boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao wants Filipino-Mexican-American singer Jessica Sanchez to sing the Philippine national anthem in one of his fights in the future.

Pacquiao, who will fight Timothy Bradley this coming June 9, recently did not only praise the 16-year old current American Idol Season 11 finalist, but also ‘declared’ her as the American Idol winner, despite having the least number of votes three weeks ago.

Jessica, good luck and we’re praying for you. Sana manalo ka. No, hindi sana. I declare that you’re gonna win in Jesus’ name,” Manny Pacquiao told ABS-CBN last week, who picked 14-year-old Filipina-New Yorker Kirby Asunto to sing “Lupang Hinirang” on his upcoming fight.

Meanwhile, Jessica Sanchez recovered in the votes by not landing in the Bottom 3 during the past 2 weeks, who sang “Dance With My Father” last week, with Richard Marx, who originally produced and co-wrote the said song, tweeted her with good comments.

Meanwhile, notable singers who have sung in previous Pacquiao fights include Charice Pempengco, Maria Aragon, Sarah Geronimo, Lani Misalucha, Christian Bautista, Kyla, Jennifer Bautista, Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, Maricar Garcia, Arnel Pineda, and American Idol Season 10 finalist Thia Megia.
