The Jersey Shore Roller Coaster that was toppled by Hurricane Sandy and is now submerged in water could be a “great tourist attraction,” Seaside Heights Mayor Bill Akers told NBC 4 New York as quoted in the reports of several international news sites on Friday, November 23, 2012.
According to reports, Mayor Akers said that he is working with the Coast Guard to see if the roller coaster is stable enough to leave it alone because he believes it would be a great tourist attraction.
Meanwhile, businessmen along the boardwalk started rebuilding because they believe that people want to come back to the shore.
Mayor Akers reportedly said that a new boardwalk will be ready in time for Memorial Day as construction begins in January.
