Jones (@JJonesAI11) announced his departure on Twitter by tweeting, “Awww I will no longer b on the show” but he deleted his tweet later after he retweeted replies from his fans, with his Twitter account eventually deleted.

As noted at TMZ on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, Jermaine Jones will be kicked off from American Idol 2012 after show producers learned he concealed that he was arrested twice last year and has also outstanding warrants.

Jones, 29, who was among the American Idol Top 12 finalists scheduled to perform on Wednesday night, allegedly did not use his real name when he was arrested, and was said to have been confronted by the show producers on camera that afternoon.

Last Thursday during the first elimination night, Jermaine Jones, who was dubbed by host Ryan Seacrest as the “Gentle Giant”, was joined by Joshua Ledet and Jeremy Rosado as the Bottom 3 for Boys, but the latter was eliminated.

Apparently, the revelation of Jones‘ criminal history came after TMZ reported that he lied when he told American Idol producers that his father abandoned him 10 years ago, which his father denied and said that they have been seeing each other regularly.

As of this writing, Fox have not released any formal statement on the case of Jermaine Jones; but TMZ sources said he will still appear on the show this Wednesday night but he will finally leave the show.
