Jeremy Lin received a multi-year offer from Houston Rockets worth at least $31 million, international sports news sites reported on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
According to a report from New York Post, the offer is a three-year deal with a fourth-year player option. The first two years are said to be at $5 million and $5.2 million while the third and fourth year will jump to about $10.5 million.
Players cannot sign with a team until July 11. Lin is a restricted free agent, which gives New York Knicks the opportunity to match the offer within 3 days if Lin agrees to the deal on July 11. Reports said that the Knicks have publicly indicated they plan to match any offer for Lin.
Meanwhile, reports said that the Dallas Mavericks also want to court Lin. Whether Lin will accept Rockets‘ offer still remains to be seen.
Jeremy Lin averaged 14.6 points, 6.2 assists and 1.6 steals but only played 35 games last season.
