As posted at RyanSeacrest.com, Jennifer Lopez talked to American Idol host Ryan Seacrest on Friday morning via his radio talk show ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest‘, and confirmed that she will not return in the upcoming American Idol Season 12, which auditions are now going on.

“When I signed on to ‘Idol‘ I signed on to do it for one year, and I wound-up doing two years because I just fell so in love with the show and everybody there. It was such a lovely surprise in my life to do it, but even last year when I had to make the decision it was super tough to decide.” Lopez told Seacrest.

“As the kids get a little bit bigger it started feeling like it was a lot and something had to give. Something has to give and that’s where I am right now.” JLo added, who joined American Idol on its 10th season, along with Steven Tyler, and original judge Randy Jackson.

Lopez, 42, who is now promoting the film ‘Ice Age 4’ where she voiced the character of the saber-toothed cat named Shira, married her third husband Marc Anthony in 2004. She gave birth to twins Maximilian and Emme in 2008, but they split in 2011, with JLo reportedly now dating her 25-year old back-up dancer, Casper Smart.

Meanwhile, Fox is still searching for the replacement for Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, but rumors are now spreading that among those celebrities being considered to join the show include Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey, who is reportedly now in talks with the show.
