As noted at CNN on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, Talackova, 23, a transgender beauty, held a press conference along with her lawyer Gloria Allred and slammed the Miss Universe organization including its owner Donald Trump.

Jenna entered this competition and gave the pageant her time, her best efforts and her money. She did not think for one moment that what she might have looked like at birth would be relevant.” Gloria Allred said in the conference.

“She did not ask Mr. Trump to prove that he is a naturally-born man, or to see the photos of his birth, to view his anatomy, to prove that he was male. It made no difference to her. Why should it have made a difference to him?” Allred said.

Mr. Trump‘s statement fails to state that the rule that only naturally-born women will be allowed to compete will be eliminated. Otherwise, we are considering all of Jenna‘s legal options.” The lawyer warned, referring to the earlier statement of Miss Universe Canada that Talackova will be allowed to return to the pageant provided that she will meet ‘legal requirements’.

“I am a woman. I was devastated and I felt that excluding me for the reason that they gave was unjust. I also want Mr. Trump to clearly state that this rule will be eliminated because I do not want any other woman to suffer the discrimination that I have to endure.” Talackova told reporters, showing her passport indicating that she is a female.

“When I was selected as a finalist, I was thrilled. I had always dreamed of being in the Miss Universe competition, and having an opportunity to represent my country, Canada,” The 6’1″ transgender beauty added, who revealed earlier that she she underwent sɛxual reassignment surgery when she was 19.

Meanwhile, CNN noted Donald Trump spoke to them on the same day, saying that Talackova should be allowed to enter the 2012 Miss Universe Canada beauty pageant according to the laws of Canada and the United States.

“So she will be entering the Miss Canada pageant, but we went strictly by the laws,” Trump was quoted telling to CNN, with the Miss Universe organization noting that their rule currently state that all contestants must be naturally born females, but is not posted on their official website.

As of this writing, there is still no official statement posted on Miss Universe Canada‘s official website as to whether Talackova have met the ‘legal gender requirement’, which the pageant to be held from May 11-20, 2012, with the grand coronation night on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
