Rapper Jay-Z rides the subway train on his way to his concert, and met an old lady who admitted that she does not know that he is famous, as shown in the video below, which is part of his 24-minute documentary video ‘Where I’m From,’ which chronicles his recent concert series at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Jay-Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, who married American R&B singer Beyonce Knowles on April 4, 2008, was shown in the video taking the subway on the way to the last of eight shows at Barclays, along with his entourage, and joined the other train passengers in waiting for the next train to arrive.
Apparently, passengers were surprised to see him; with some of them taking photos using their phones and others approached him and shook his hands. When the train arrived, the 43-year old Grammy Award singer went inside the train with his companions. He sat beside an elderly woman, who was sitting alone.
“Are you famous?” The old lady asked Jay-Z, after realizing that the crowd’s reaction, with some of them are even screaming with excitement and snapping photos. It was obvious that she does not have an idea who is sitting beside him. “Yes. Not very famous. You don’t know me. I’ll get there someday.” Jay-Z replied with a smile.
“My name is Jay, what’s your name?” Jay-Z asks, as the two shook hands. “Ellen. What do you do?” The woman responded. The Reasonable Doubt singer told her about his music career and that he is on his way to Barclays Center for his last of the eight show performances.
“I’m proud of you…Oh! You’re Jay-Z! I know about Jay-Z!” Ellen exclaimed, and the two shared a laugh together. The video later showed Jay-Z, who is known for being a very successful entrepreneur, and his entourage leaving the subway, along with snap of videos of his recent shows at Barclays Center.
