As posted at CBCPNews.com, the City of Manila is now constructing a life-size bronze monument of the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, and will be unveiled during the celebration of EDSA People Power 1 25th anniversary.

The said monument will be erected at the corner of P. Burgos Drive and Roxas Boulevard in Intramuros, Manila, near the Luneta Park at about 9:30 a.m., wherein President Benigno ‘Nonynoy’ Aquino III (PNoy) will be leading the unveil.

Jaime Cardinal Sin’s statue will be placed beside the monument of the late President Corazon Aquino and the late former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr, the president’s parents, according to Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

“There will first be a Mass, after which we go to EDSA, and then we come to Manila where the monuments are. I invite all of you to witness the unveiling of Sin’s monument.” Mayor Lim said.

Jaime Cardinal Sin is a Catholic Church leader who played an important role in the EDSA People Power 1 on February 25, 1986, which eventually lead to the ousting of then President Ferdinand Marcos, who ruled the country for 20 years.
