Although Jacqueline Marie Evancho commonly known as Jackie Evancho did not win the championship in the fifth season of America’s Got Talent, her post contest performance is outstanding.  Evancho, only ten during the contest had impressed the three judges that they could not believe such angelic voice could emanate from such tiny body.

She came in second to Michael Grimm in that season, with the singer from Mississippi winning over the votes of majority of Americans. She had started practicing when she was eight years old and had won several singing competitions until she passed the auditions conducted by Amercia’s Got Talent.

After the contest however, Evancho’s singing career had a phenomenal rise in stature. Her “O Holy Night” performed extraordinarily; it was ranked 7 for 2010 sales at Amazon, No. 2 on the Billboard Charts, No. 1 on the Billboard Classical Charts and Evancho had become the top selling debut artist for year 2010.

She  has a powerful, mature voice that made some of the viewers of  America’s Got Talent thought she was lip-synching, At the age of 10, she is the youngest female artist to enter the Top Ten and the youngest opera singer to date. Here is a video from America’s Got Talent.
