Bar Exam blast reward

The reward for those who will be able to provide enough information in pinning down the responsible for the Bar exam blast has been raised to P1.2-M. Several donors have added P1 million to the cash reward of P200,00 given by Fraternal Order of Utopia, an Ateneo Law School-based fraternity.

The Bar exam blast happened on the final day of the Bar exams last September 26, 2010. Around 44 people were hit by the explosion that happened outside the De La Salle University campus along Taft Avenue. The blast occurred during the annual “Salubong”, a gathering of people who greets all those who took the Bar exams.

Since the investigation by the Supreme Court started, Utopia has been in full support in the conduct of its investigation. The fraternity in a statement said, “Utopia condemns in the strongest terms the irresponsible act of the perpetrators which caused injuries and sufferings to many young people whose aspirations to become lawyers have been adversely affected by this dastardly and cowardly act.”

As of posting however, nobody has come out to pinpoint the perpetrator in the Bar exam blast despite the big reward.

The Manila Police District (MPD) headed by director Chief Superintendent Roberto Rongavilla is looking at 3 angles:

  • fraternity war,
  • personal conflict,
  • link to the Ampatuans.

One of the victims in the blast is a member of the Ampatuan clan from Maguindanao. – ABS-CBN News
