As noted at the official website of the Philippine government on Friday morning, the DOT launched its new slogan, replacing the failed slogan “Pilipinas Kay Ganda” (Philippines, so Beautiful) in November 2010.

As reported earlier, President Noynoy Aquino III (PNoy) junked the controversial DOT slogan after it was highly criticized with only less than a week since it was launched, in which allegedly its logo was copied from Poland‘s official travel website.

Meanwhile, the DOT is also developing a national initiative under the line “#1forFun” to rally the country, with the campaign being hoped to enjoin the entire nation in creating positive buzz of the tagline.

“Our strategy is simple: while other countries invite you to observe, Filipinos can promise a more heartfelt and interesting experience.” Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. was quoted at www.gov.ph, noting that it needs everyone’s support for it to stay true.

“We need a line that is easily understood. Competitive. More fun in the Philippines is true. Keri natin ito” Jimenez was also quoted at DOT’s official Twitter account (@DOTPhilippines), in which the new website was also launched.

“Wherever you go in the Philippines, it’s the Filipinos that will make your holiday unforgettable. Just ask anyone who’s been here.” A statement reads at ItsmorefuninthePhilippines.com.

“In fact, Lonely Planet guidebook calls us ‘among the most easygoing and ebullient people anywhere’. Find out for yourself why it’s more fun in the Philippines. And make the most out of your vacation.” The website added.
