The latest iPhone 5 rumors are now saying that Apple will release the device this coming September, along with iPad mini; contrary to earlier rumors that the new iPhone release date is set this August and will not be called iPhone 5.

According to a report at Boy Genius Report (BGR) on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, industry watcher plugged-in KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is saying that iPhone 5 will be released this coming September, which will be shortly followed by the release of the so-called iPad mini.
“iPhone 5 to debut in September. But due to in-cell touch panel and casing yield rate limits, ability to offset older models’ shipments decrease will be moderate.” Ming-Chi wrote in a letter to clients, as quoted in the report, with LA Times earlier reported that Apple will most likely call the device simply the “new iPhone“.
“Though shipments of iPad mini‘s components will start in August, the new iPad line will end production, ready for transition to a modified new iPad line. As such, component shipments will drop in August as iPad mini’s components shipments growth will be offset.” Ming-Chi added.
Apparently, this is the same as what App4Phone, a French website reported last Monday, quoting a Chinese source saying that “the new iPhone will be released on September 21, 2012 in the US and some parts of Europe including France“, and even revealed that the device will have a smaller connector.
“We also received confirmation that the Port Dock of the new iPhone is not the same as the last iPhone 4S. For the sake of occupying space in their device, Apple has opted for a smaller connector.” An English translation of the statement at App4Phone.fr reads.
In addition, App4Phone said that the Jack port of the new iPhone, which connects to all types of audio devices such as headphones or earphones, was moved in the lower left corner of the device, which is located in the upper left corner in the previous versions of the iPhone.
Lastly, the new iPhone is being believed to have a 3.75″ display and will measure around 123.9 mm long, as compared to iPhone 4S which has 3.5-inch display and measures 115.2 mm long; with earlier rumors saying that the new iPhone will have a thinner screen but larger display.
