iPad 3 Slightly Thicker With Higher Resolution Display, Rumors Say

iPad 3 will be slightly thicker, according to a report from iLounge on November 18, 2011.

According to iLounge, iPad 3 will become “modestly thicker (0.77mm) in order to accommodate the twin light bar system needed for its higher-resolution display.” iLounge said that this information came from their “most reliable source.”

Meanwhile, separate reports said that QXGA 2048 x 1536 (3.1 Megapixel) IPSRetina‘ panels to be used for Apple‘s upcoming iPad 3 have now entered production. Reports also said that Apple is having its displays produced by Samsung, Sharp and LGD.

The iPad 3 is expected to be released by March next year, according to unconfirmed reports from Apple fans’ websites.
