According to Chinese tech blog MIC Gadget on Sunday, March 4, 2012, they have gotten some of the actual parts of the upcoming iPad3 from an Apple supplier in Shenzhen, China, including its front glass, rear shell and plastic casing.

As noted in the report, they have constructed the “iPad 3” using the said casing materials but without any major computer components and was said to have confirmed that there is a home button, which is contrary to earlier rumors when Apple released their March 7 event invitation.

In addition, the report noted that the new iPad will be available at 16GB, 32GB and 64GB which is also earlier rumors said; and will also feature tapered edges like the iPad 2 but was said to be a bit thicker.

“Our sources have indicated also that a new Apple TV, at the same price point will be revealed on March 7 as well.We have suspected this as many Apple resellers in China have been complaining of their stock of Apple TVs not being replenished.” MIC Gadget Hong Kong editor Chris Chang wrote.

“It will feature a newer processor inside it, the A5X with the lower nanometer manufacturing which makes it run cooler and energy efficient. Our internal sources have confirmed this.” Chang added, noting that they found more iPad 3 cases for sale on Chinese trading site Alibaba, with latest reports saying that the new iPad will be called Ipad HD.
