Apple iOS 5 Error 3200 was experienced by Apple users when the new mobile operating system was made available as a free update using iTunes on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, according to reports by several international news sites on Thursday, October 13.

iOS 5 Error 3200 or internal error reportedly halts the installation as iTunes failed to contact Apple’s servers to verify and activate the update process. Some reports point to the heavy traffic that iOS 5 server experienced during the initial release of the new mobile OS.

To fix the iOS 5 Error 3200, solution was provided in the Apple support website and by those who were able to successfully update to iOS 5 suggests, that before proceeding with the update, Mac users must first do the following:

  • iTunes must be updated to version 10.5
  • Mac OS X Lion must be upgraded to version 10.7.2
  • Lion Recovery Update version 1.0 must be installed

These updates can be obtained through the Apple Software update link under the menu of the Apple icon icon.
