A video of an alleged Iceland loch ness monster has reportedly gone viral online. The loch ness monster said to be caught on video in Iceland has raised the debate on its existence, according to a report by ABC news on Saturday, June 9, 2012.

The ABC report said that the video shows a “creature slithering through the icy waters of the Jökulsá í Fljótsdal river in east Iceland.”

Hjortur Kjerulf reportedly caught the loch ness monster on video last February 2 and posted it online at Icelandic broadcaster RUV website.

The alleged Iceland version of Scotland’s loch ness monster is known as Lagarfljótsormurinn.

Some experts, including Loren Coleman, director of the International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine doubts the authenticity of the latest loch ness monster video.

At his Cryptomundo website, Coleman said that “Frankly this video shows something that looks like a constructed snake-like object, with rigid sections, being propelled through the water. From the movement on the water’s surface, it would have to be something other than a mammal, like a giant worm, a reptile or a fish.”
