As noted at ESPN early this week, Hot Wheels teamed up with them to create the six-story double vertical loop, where the two race car drivers will be accelerating up to 52 miles per hour and will hit seven times the normal gravity as they drive through the loop, which is being noted as the world’s largest double loop ever.
According to the report, Hollywood stunt driver Greg Tracy will be driving for the Team Green and X Games RallyCross competitor and two-time Formula Drift Champion Tanner Foust will comprise Team Yellow, which will be aired live at ABC/ESPN on Saturday, June 30 11 a.m. PT (2 p.m. ET).
“We’re continuing to push the boundaries of imagination by creating extraordinary real world challenges that bring Hot Wheels to life on a global scale, exemplifying the fearless and competitive spirit of the brand.” Mattel Marketing Vice President Simon Waldron was quoted at ESPN.com.
“Our relationship with ESPN allows us to leverage the world’s premier action sports stage to engage a passionate fan base who shares our excitement of thrilling vehicle experiences.” Waldron added, with the car race stunt challenge being a life-size model of the Hot Wheels Double Dare Snare track set.
This 66-foot tall Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare, in which experts notably spent long hours in research, modeling, and analysis, including testing the right vehicles and conducting G-force testing, is only among the shows to be featured at Summer X-Games 2012, which will be from June 28 – July 1, 2012.
Back in May 2011, Foust, also a three-time X Games Gold medalist, broke the world record for distance jump in a four-wheeled vehicle at the Indianapolis 500, after dropping 10 stories down 90 feet of orange track and soars 332 feet through the air.
