According to Chicago Sun-Times that day, the famous house that was used in the 1990 hit movie ‘Home Alone‘ starring Macaulay Culkin was bought by an anonymous buyer, after nearly one year being listed.

As noted in the report, John and Cynthia Abendshien bought the house late in 1988 for $875,000, almost two before it was used for the John Hughes-produced blockbuster film, and put it on sale at Coldwell Banker in mid last year.

Back in May 2011, the selling price of the said house was $2.4 million, but was lowered to $2.175 in June, and became $1.95 million in October; and was most recently listed for $1.95 million.

As described at Chicago Tribune, the 91-year old house, which is located at 671 Lincoln Avenue, Winnetka, Illinois and sits on a half-acre lot, has 14 rooms including four bedrooms, 3.2 baths, and a large screened-in porch.

Apparently, the most famous part of the 4,250-square-foot, three-story red-brick, and Georgian-style home was said to be the wide stairways, where Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay) slid his sleigh in the ‘Home Alone 1‘ hit movie.
