Hines Ward wins as Dancing with the Stars 2011 champion, thanked Kym Johnson

Hines Ward won as the Dancing with the Stars 2011 champion; along with his pro-dancing partner Kym Johnson, as announced on the show on Tuesday, May 24, 2011.

As shown at ABC, Hines Ward and Kym Johnson won as the Dancing with the Stars Season 12 champion, beating Chelsea Kane and Kirstie Alley and their dancing partners.

“I never thought I’d be in the finals, but I owe it all to Kim. She’s an amazing teacher,” Hines Ward said after winning, who also plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers and named as a Super Bowl MVP.

“They’re all deserving of this mirror ball. But I’m not going to apologize for winning,” the 35-year old NFL star player added, noting that he will place his Mirror Ball trophy beside his MVP trophy.

Now that the show for this season is over, Ward said that he will watch the previous episodeS, which he admitted that he was not able to since he and Kym has to practice for their next performances.

On the other hand, Kym Johnson said it is worth finishing the competition despite having an injury and admitted that she will rest and relax.

Meanwhile, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy landed as first runner-up despite encountering some mishaps during the previous episodes, and earned a final score of 84 points.

Alley, 60, who was said to have lost around 60 pounds during the entire season, told reports that he journey was beyond her expectation.

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, who tied with Hines Ward and Kym Johnson for the final score of 89, went on the third place.
