As noted at US entertainment news sites on Friday, September 2, 2011, TNT announced the cancellation of HawthoRNe after being aired for three seasons since June 2009.

TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of ‘HawthoRNe‘. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in ‘HawthoRNe‘.” The TV network was quoted on a statement.

“The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with ‘HawthoRNe‘ nothing but the best.” The statement added.

Prior to the TNT announcement, Jada Pinkett Smith also announced similar news at Whosay.com on the same day, thanking all the show followers, with its season finale aired last August. 16.

“Hey everyone…if you don’t know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season. I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our Facebook fans…Twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!”

Jada Pinkett Smith was recently rumored to have separated with Will Smith and allegedly linked to her co-star Marc Anthony, but the two reportedly denied having a romantic relationship.

Anthony, 42, who is now separated from Jennifer Lopez, played the role of Detective Nick Renata mostly in Season 3 and a love interest of Christina Hawthorne, the character of Smith.

Other show casts include Michael Vartan, Vanessa Lengies, Adam Rayner, Hannah Hodson and Suleka Mathew, with the show ratings noted to have declined particularly in the last season.
