Harry Potter ebooks now for sale at Pottermore website, compatible with iPad, Amazon Kindle and Nook

Harry Potter ebooks are now for sale and are available at Pottermore website, which are compatible with Apple iPad, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble‘s Nook, as well as Sony‘s Reader; along with the audio versions.

As noted at Pottermore.com on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, J.K. Rowling‘s Harry Potter ebooks are available in English in U.S. and U.K. editions, French, Italian, German and Spanish editions will follow in the coming weeks.

According to the Pottermore website, the seven Harry Potter ebooks and its audio versions are also compatible with smartphones and MP3 players, including iPods, and can be bought via Visa, MasterCard and other leading cards except American Express, but will be added soon.

Apparently, the prices depend on the length of the novels: Books One to Three cost $7.99 and the remaining four are $9.99, while the Harry Potter ebooks Complete Collection costs $57.54. The audio versions cost $29.99 for the first three books and $44.99 for the remaining four, and $242.94 for the entire lot.

“For years our customers have loved reading Harry Potter books in print, and have made them the best-selling print book series on Amazon.com. We’re excited that Harry Potter fans worldwide are now able to read J.K. Rowling‘s fantastic books on their Kindles and free Kindle reading apps.” Russ Grandinetti, Vice President of Kindle Content, was quoted at Amazon.com.

Meanwhile, Pottermore.com, which was announced by J.K. Rowling last June, is still at Beta version although the plan was supposed to be last October but was pushed back after a one million users showed that platform changes were needed; and is being expected to go live this coming April.
