Ground beef recall: Winn-Dixie, Publix release recalled product list affected by National Beef recall

Winn-Dixie and Publix stores released on Saturday, August 13, 2011 their complete list of affected products in related to the National Beef ground beef recall last Friday.

Earlier, Kroger stores also released a separate list of recalled products, while Walmart so far have only posted a copy of the FSIS recall announcement on their official website.

Meanwhile, Winn-Dixie announced through a press release that the recalled products were sold in their stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

“We encourage guests with any concerns to return the product for a full refund, no questions asked,” Winn-Dixie‘s group marketing vice president Mary Kellmanson said on the report.

As noted by the company, the Winn-Dixie recall products have “sell-by” label dates from 7/31/11 – 8/12/11 and can be identified through the list below.

* Winn-Dixie Ground Chuck Family Pack (FP), UPC code 29127700000
* Winn-Dixie Ground Chuck Patties, UPC code 20170100000
* Winn-Dixie Ground Chuck Patties Family Pack (FP), UPC code 29128200000

Winn-Dixie, having its headquarters at Jacksonville, Florida noted that they have not received any illness report related to the recall.

Likewise, Publix also released its own list of recalled products as seen below, which were produced on their retail meat departments and with sell-by-dates between July 25 and August 12, 2011.

Publix noted that these products contain ground chuck and were sold in grocery stores in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee but only in specific counties.

For Florida stores, 17 counties were affected which include Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Leon, Suwannee, Columbia, Alachua, Marion, Putnam, Clay, Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns, Duval and Nassau.

“To date, there have been no reported cases of illness.” Publix media and community relations director Maria Brous wrote on their report, noting that potentially affected customers may return the product to their local store for a full refund.
