As noted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on its official website, this latest ground beef recall is Class 1 or High Risk.

According to the report, the problem was discovered through a routine microbial testing conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, with no related incident reports as of this writing.

Nevertheless, FSIS noted that National Beef Packing Co., which has a plant in Dodge City, Kansas, is the only source of the potentially affected meat products.

FSIS said that these products were shipped to distributors in the US for further processing and/or distribution and may have been repacked and sold in retail stores under different brand names.

CNN reported on Monday that the retail stores that received the ground beef include Kroger, Publix, Wal-Mart and Winn-Dixie stores located in different parts in the country, which separately released the list of the recalled products.

Meanwhile, Kroger emphasized on their recall list of products that their Mississippi stores are not included and only four states are affected.

Winn-Dixie and Publix released separate lists of recalled products while Walmart only posted a copy of the FSIS announcement on their official website.

Below is the list of the recalled ground beef products taken from the FSIS website, with each box and chub bearing the establishment number “Est. 262” and is within the USDA mark of inspection.
