As noted at US news sites earlier, Gov. Rick Perry stressed out that the “The Response USA” is not a political rally but rather aimed to unite Christians in America in this “time of trouble”.

Perry, 61, a Republican, who has been the governor of Texas since 2009, was noted to be now giving a “second thought” of running for president in 2012, after he told reports earlier that he is not interested.

According to TheResponseUSA.com where a live video of the event was shown, the prayer rally is a call to prayer for a nation in crisis, with thousands of men and women attended.

Apparently, “The Response USA” prayer rally, which was held at the Reliant Stadium, was created and promoted by Gov. Rick Perry, wherein about 20,000 people have joined.

Evangelical radio personality James Dobson rendered a speech and Luis Cataldo of the International House of Prayer in Kansas City made the opening remarks.

Before noon (Texas time), Gov. Rick Perry spoke on the stage and prayed and later was followed by other Christian group leaders and Gospel songs were sung, with the event still on going as of this writing.
