As noted in US news sites on Thursday, January 26, 2012, the incident took place on Wednesday, January 25 when President Obama arrived in Phoenix via Air Force One, and was seen by reporters talking to Gov. Jan Brewer.

According to reports, the Arizona Governor had an unusual confrontation with the Commander-in-Chief about her newly published book titled “Scorpions for Breakfast“, which is about her early years until she entered politics.

Apparently, there was a portion in that book in which the President Obama has strongly opposed that led them to a “heated discussion” that day although they appeared to be smiling to each other.

“He was a little disturbed about my book. We could have been talking about a million different things.” Gov. Jan Brewer was quoted telling to reporters after that scene with the president.

“Bottom line is that he generally wants to talk about amnesty and I want to talk about securing our border…I was in the middle of a sentence and he walked away,” The governor added.

“I will say that a picture is what it is. I must say, I was not hostile. I was trying to be very, very gracious.” Brewer explains, describing the photo showing her finger pointing to President Obama, noting that she respects the office of the president and will never be disrespectful in that manner.

Back in June 2010, Gov. Jan Brewer had a White House meeting with the president which she described in a press conference as “very cordial”, but described in her book the following year that Mr. Obama was then “patronizing”.

Meanwhile, the White House reportedly noted that President Obama would still be glad to have another meeting with the governor and talk about helping Arizona‘s economy grow.
