Google+ Pages for business launched, Toyota USA creates own Brand Page

Google+, Google‘s latest social networking site that aims to compete with Facebook, has launched a feature called Google+ Pages; which Toyota USA is among the first companies to create one.

According to a post at the official Google Blog on Monday, November 7, 2011, Google+ Pages is created for brands and businesses that would want to connect their fans and customers.

“So far Google+ has focused on connecting people with other people.” Google Engineering SVP Vic Gundotra wrote, with Google+ members having more than 40 million users since early October.

“But we want to make sure you can build relationships with all the things you care about—from local businesses to global brands—so today we’re rolling out Google+ Pages worldwide.” Gundotra added.

“Not only can they recommend you with a +1, or add you to a circle to listen long-term. They can actually spend time with your team, face-to-face-to-face.” Gundotra explains further.

As noted by Google, there are already a number of Google+ Pages created which include that from Angry Birds, Anderson Cooper 360, Dallas Cowboys, Good Morning America, Macy’s, and Toyota USA.

“As a longtime Google partner, Toyota is pleased to announce our Toyota Google+ page.” Toyota Digital Marketing Vice President Dave Nordstrom was quoted in a press release posted at Toyota.com this Monday.

“We are excited to expand our connections with owners, fans, advocates and Toyota associates in a unique environment that can be customized and personalized in ways that are important to us all, and we look forward to tapping into the diverse ways to build a rich, fun environment.” Nordstrom added.
