As noted by CNET on Thursday night, technical evangelist Robert Scoble tweeted that Sergey Brin was seen wearing a pair of Google Glasses, an augmented reality eyeglasses unveiled via Google‘s Project Glass on Wednesday.

“The Google Glasses are real! Here is a set on @sergeybrinn cofounder of Google @ Palace Hotel, San Francisco,” Robert Scoble (@Scobleizer) tweeted, along with a photo of him with Mr. Brin, noting later they “look very light weight”.

Sergey wouldn’t let me wear the Google Glasses but I could see they were flashing info to him. I so want one of these!” Scoble tweeted later, adding that they are not much different than a regular set of glasses.

“We believe technology should work for you — to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.” Google wrote in the description of the Project Glass YouTube video, noting that ‘Google Glasses‘ will help users explore and share their world.

However, various spoof videos were uploaded at YouTube included that from Jonathan McIntosh, who added contextual Google ads on the “Google Glasses“; and from a certain Tom Scott, who dubbed the Google Glasses as a “new way to hurt yourself”.
