Google Doodle celebrates today, February 11, 2011, the 164th birthday of Thomas Edison and some of his greatest inventions, as shown in the screenshot below.

Google.com homepage visitors are now being greeted by interactive images of some of Thomas Edison’s greatest inventions, being represented by each letter of the word G-O-O-G-L-E.

This includes phonograph, motion picture camera, music recording, electric car battery, and incandescent light bulb, and clicking on the Google logo will lead visitors to tons of articles about Thomas Edison.

This Google Doodle representing Thomas Edison’s greatest inventions is currently being seen in US, UK, and some countries in Asia including the Philippines.

Thomas Edison, according to history, is being known for his numerous and remarkable inventions that contributed a lot not only in the daily living but also for the innovation of communication technology.

Edison has more than 1,000 patents in the US, as well as to UK, France, and Germany. A lot of historical places in the US and awards were named after him.

Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847 in Ohio and passed away on October 18, 1931.
