Google Doodle celebrates Halloween 2011 (Video)

Google Doodle celebrates Halloween 2011 by carving six giant pumpkins, each of them representing the letters of Google logo, as shown in the fun-time lapse video below.

As noted in a post at official Google blog on late Sunday, October 30, 2011, a number of Google employees and friends spent approximately 8 hours carving these huge pumpkins, weighing over 1,000 pounds each.

According to Google, the video was shot in Google’s Headquarters in Mountain View and can now be seen at Google homepage in countries that celebrate Halloween such as in the US and UK. Philippines is not included.

Apparently, some Google staff can be seen wearing different costumes including Uncle Sam and Santa Claus and posing for pictures during daytime, but the highlight was shown when night came.

When the video ends, the browser will redirect to a search results page for the query, “Happy Halloween“. Google also uploaded a behind-the-scenes video at YouTube, also shown below.
