As announced at GMANews.tv, GMA Network aims to change its own style of news broadcasting by launching GMA News TV, an all-news TV channel which will start on February 28, 2011 via Channel 11 (formerly QTV 11).

According to GMA Network, GMA News TV is their response to the public clamor for credible and relevant news in the tradition of the slogan ‘Serbisyong Totoo’ (Truthful Service).

“We are responding to viewers’ requests for timely news updates in Filipino and for public affairs shows at earlier time slots with this groundbreaking news channel,” GMA News TV Head Nessa Valdellon said.

Among the GMA Network top broadcast journalists in line for GMA News TV are Jessica Soho, Mike Enriquez, Mel Tiangco, Arnold Clavio, Vicky Morales and Howie Severino.

Adding to the GMA News TV line up are Prof. Winnie Monsod, Kara David, and Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) Executive Director Malou Mangahas.

As an initial broadcast, GMA News TV will start airing at 6 a.m. (Manila time) on February 28, Monday up to 12:30 a.m., the next day.

Howie Severino and Kara David will do the daily morning news ‘News To Go’ from 9:00~10:00 a.m, and Rhian Ramos will do the showbiz news ‘Spotlight‘ from 7:30 ~8:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. on February 28)

On the other hand, Jessica Soho will do ‘State of the Nation’ (SONA) from 9:00~10:00 p.m, an evening news that promises a more in-debt new story telling including asking questions from personalities involved in the topic.

Meanwhile, GMA Network earlier announced that the GMA News website will be branded as GMA News Online but will retain its domain name.
