As noted at local news this morning, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who is also a Pampanga Congresswoman, is now prepared to be moved to a public hospital from St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) in Taguig City.

In an interview by ANC last night, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo said that the government may use a helicopter to transfer GMA since moving by land may not be a good idea.

“We’ll take a look at the situation tomorrow. We’re considering air transport from St. Luke’s to Veterans.” Secretary Robredo was quoted on the interview, but will be depending on some factors including the weather.

Meanwhile, Mrs Arroyo‘s spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn told morning TV news that the former president slept well the night before and appeared well-rested, with her husband, former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo was among those present at SLMC that night.

Nevertheless, the spokeswoman noted that it would be better if the 64-year old former president will be transferred by land and would be safer for her, which is being expected to happen any time of the day.

At around 8 a.m. (local time), Mrs, Arroyo‘s doctors are being expected to release the latest medical bulletin on their patient, wherein the local and international media, as well as her supporters are now arriving to witness the transfer.

Late last week, Pasay RTC Branch 112 Judge Jesus Mupas ordered the transfer of the former president within five days with the DILG and PNP noting that they will provide sufficient safety measures during the transfer and at VMMC where she will be transferred.

As reported earlier, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was charged by the joint forces of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on an alleged electoral sabotage and an arrest warrant has been issued.
