In an exclusive interview by THR, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that the three Glee stars will be among who will graduate from McKinley High at the end of Glee Season 3.

“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.” Murphy told THR.

Murphy also said that “more characters are leaving than are staying” as Glee Season 3 filming is being set to start on August 10 and will premiere this coming September 20, 2011.

“We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea.” Murphy explained further, noting that the decision was made even before Glee’s new writers joined in.

On the other hand, Glee Season 3 was noted to have four new cast members and the “The Glee Project” winner, which will be announced in August, will have a seven-episode guest-starring role.
