Giant Christmas Tree Lit in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan is Tallest in the Philippines

A giant Christmas tree was lighted in Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan on December, 2010. The 150 feet tree is reportedly the tallest Christmas tree in the Philippines, according to local news sites.

The tree lighting ceremony started with a prayer by representatives of  6 religious organizations, followed by the singing of the choirs from different local schools and churches in Palawan.

Mayor Edward Hagedorn and his wife Ellen, rendered the last song for their constituents before the giant Christmas tree was finally lit.

The Christmas tree, took two months in the making,  is decorated with massive handmade ornaments and a giant Santa riding a sleigh with reindeer. The ornaments were locally made by the people of Palawan.
