Friendster redesigned website launch on April 27 at SM City North EDSA, as online games platform

Manila, Philippines – The new Friendster website was officially launched on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 as Southeast Asia‘s social discovery and online games platform, which be presented in a special inaugural event this coming Friday, April 27.

As noted by MOL Global Pte Ltd. on its official website that day, the redesigned Friendster website promises unique users experience which combines search, content discovery and social functionalities; and now has a tagline “living the game.”

According to MOL Global, a leading e-payment and e-lifestyle provider that bought Friendster in December 2009, new user interface provides excellent user experience while discovering new games of multiple genres and exciting new concepts to earn rewards.

Friendster pioneered the social networking industry and paved the way for the emergence of other sites. As the global gaming communities grew, it was essential for Friendster to find its unique proposition in order to remain competitive.” MOL Group CEO Ganesh Kumar Bangah was quoted at

Friendster, which is now being operated mainly in Malaysia, Singapore, and Philippines, was redesigned as a social gaming platform in June 2011, was launched in 2002 as a social networking site, ahead of MySpace and Facebook.

Meanwhile, a game event dubbed as Friendster FunXtion is being set to happen on Friday, April 27 at the SM North Cyberzone Activity Area in Quezon City to formally launch the new Friendster website to the public.
