According to reports, the finished form of the deep-fried Kool-Aid is like a pastry, “first sweet and then tangy.” The recipe was said to include big amounts of Kool-Aid powder, powdered sugar, flour and hot oil.

“It’s really good, different, but a little more like a doughnut than Kool-Aid,” Angelyn Lucia, one of the tasters reportedly told the North Caroline Times.

Boghosian said that his fried Kool-Aid outsells his other deep-fried foods two to one.

“That’s because it tastes so darn good,” Boghosian was quoted saying.
