Floyd Mayweather Jr arrested in Las Vegas for alleged assault, released without bail

Five-division boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr was arrested in Las Vegas on Thursday after an arrest warrant issued by a judge for an alleged assault to a security guard, according to TMZ on Friday.

Mayweather Jr, the undefeated world boxing champion, was arrested by Las Vegas police due to a complaint by a security guard whom he allegedly assault last November 15, 2010.

Apparently, a security guard named Shayne Smith issued two parking tickets to two cars of the boxer which were outside his house in Las Vegas that day.

Mayweather Jr, according to the claim of the security guard, went ballistic and poked a finger to his face.

A Las Vegas judge have issued a arrest warrant to Floyd Mayweather Jr for the battery charge, but was immediately recalled after a hearing last December 7, TMZ said on Thursday.

However, the same warrant was issued again after the prosecution complained that the boxer was said to be receiving favorable treatment.

On Thursday, the complainant apparently saw Mayweather Jr inside a casino in Las Vegas and immediately called the police. The boxer was arrested and was held in Clark County Detention Center, CNN reported.

According to a post at FanHouse, Mayweather Jr was released in less than 12 hours with no bail posted.

As of this writing, there was no reported comments coming from the boxer and his camp.
