Rick ScottAccording to international news reports, Democrat Alex Sink already conceded to Republican Rick Scott on Florida‘s governor’s race. A win by Sink is already a “mathematical impossibility,” Scott‘s campaign said earlier Wednesday.

Rick Scott is an American businessman, attorney, founder of Conservatives for Patient’s Rights and a former health care industry executive. He is backed by the tea party and jumped into the Republican primary race last April.

Meanwhile, Alex Sink is the treasurer on the board of trustees of the Florida State Board of Administration and the Chief Financial Officer for the state of Florida. She was in the banking business for 26 years and one of the state’s most prominent businesswoman.

Scott will replace Gov. Charlie Crist who chose to run for the US Senate, losing to Marco Rubio last Tuesday.

It was a very close race with Scott winning with a very thin lead of 49 percent against Sink‘s 48 percent.
