First Pinoy Biggest Loser winner is Larry Martin

As shown at ABS-CBN Channel 2 that night, the first Pinoy Biggest Loser title went to Larry Martin, with the show hosted by Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Derek Ramsay as Game Master.

Martin, 36, took home 1 million pesos, a condominium unit from DMCI Homes, a Vespa scooter, and will be featured in the cover of the Men’s Health magazine November edition.

The former policeman from Camarines Sur also won a 40-inch Sony Internet TV, Whirlpool appliances, and a lifetime gym membership with Fitness First.

During the show, ABS-CBN Chairman and CEO Eugenio ‘Gabby’ Lopez III went up the stage and announced that the second place up to the fourth runner-up will also receive P500,000 each.

Larry Martin, a former police officer, needed at least 97 lbs to win the first Pinoy Biggest Loser title, had an initial weight of 255 lbs. and had a final weight of 154 lbs, which means he lost 101 lbs.

He beat four other Pinoy Biggest Loser finalists including Angela Lupangco, Raffy Tan, Hazel Chua, and Art Mendoza, (2nd place) who had an initial weight of 341 lbs and had a final weight of 212 lbs, losing 129 lbs.

Lupangco (4th place) had an initial weight of 223 lbs and finished off with 143 lbs.; Tan (3rd place) lost 100 lbs from 287 lbs to 187 lbs, while Chua (5th place) initially weighed 206 lbs and lost 68 lbs, ending to a weight of 138 lbs.
