As announced by Facebook on its official blog that day, Facebook Timeline has new apps that can be added and users can start updating their friends via the new Facebook Ticker.

According to Facebook Product Manager Carl Sjogreen, the additional apps are available from Foodspotting, Foodily, TicketMaster, Pinterest, Rotten Tomatoes, Pose, Kobo, Gogobot, TripAdvisor, and more.

“Our vision for Timeline and our vision for the application platform is whatever you love and whatever story you want to tell, you can add that to your Timeline,” Sjogreen was quoted as saying.

“Our message to developers is ‘start your engines'” Sjogreen added, noting that more apps will be added for other interests such as snowboarding, gardening, hiking, or knitting, among others.

Apparently, Facebook partnered with 60 third parties that provided these new apps for TimeLine, which will generate their own “verbs” on the Facebook Ticker such as “Joe is playing FarmVilleā€.

Meanwhile, Facebook emphasized that users have full control over these apps and can choose who can see the apps, while posts can be removed directly from their Timeline and settings can be edited via their personal Activity Log.
