Facebook Movies: ‘Dark Knight’ Is Warner Bros. First Movie On Demand In Facebook

Facebook movies on demand is now streaming over the world’s most popular and largest social networking site. On Tuesday, March 8, 2011, Warner Bros. started testing a new Facebook feature that offer users the ability to rent or purchase movies over the social networking site.

By clicking “Like” on “The Dark KnightFacebook page, users will be able to click a “Rent” icon and pay 30 Facebook credits or $3 to watch it within 48 hours. More movies titles can be viewed on demand in the coming months, according to Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. will soon provide a feature, wherein users will be able to purchase full movies through Facebook.

Below is the statement by Warner Bros Digital Distribution president, Thomas Gewecke.

Facebook has become a daily destination for hundreds of millions of people. Making our films available through Facebook is a natural extension of our digital distribution efforts. It gives consumers a simple, convenient way to access and enjoy our films through the world’s largest social network.

Facebook movies is currently available only to United States users.
