A gay kiss photo deleted allegedly by Facebook is now reinstated with the number one social networking site apologizing. According to several international news sites, April 19, 2011, the photo, a promo pic for Eastenders, was posted in support of a gay couple who was booted from a pub in London for a quick smooch.

More than 41,000 Facebook members participated in the “Kissing is Cool” protest against the deletion of the gay kissing photo. There are still more members setting up their own pages in support of the photo.

The protest however has simmered as Facebook released a statement claiming an error in the deletion. Facebook further added, according to the Advocate:

“The photo in question does not violate our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and was removed in error. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
