Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull snatched the pole position from Jenson Button in the 2011 Formula One Japanese Grand Prix Qualifying round in Suzuka, Japan, according to reports by several international news sites on Sunday, October 9, 2011.

F1 leader, Vettel, overcame the dominance of McLaren in the previous rounds. Vettel grabbed the pole after edging Button by a mere nine-thousandths of a second.

Lewis Hamilton, Button‘s teammate at McLaren, also missed the chance of grabbing the pole position as he got entangled with MercedesMichael Schumacher and Red Bull‘s Mark Webber and settled for third position.

Vettel is aiming to become the youngest F1 back-to-back World driver’s champion.
