F1 Hungarian GP 2011 Results: Sebastian Vettel Tops Qualifying Round

Defending Formula One Champion Sebastian Vettel secured the pole position on race day as he checks in the best time during the qualifying round of the F1 2011 Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday, July 30, 2011 in Budapest, Hungary, according to a report posted at F1.com.

Vettel clocked in at 1:19.815 to edge out Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes by a mere tenth of a second. Hamilton‘s teammate, Jenson Button, came in third. Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari came in fourth and fifth place respectively. Vettel‘s Red Bull teammate, Mark Webber is in sixth place.

After being out of the podium in the last race in Germany, Vettel seeks to redeem himself in this race and cement his lead in the Driver’s Championship. Vettel currently leads all drivers with 216 championship points. He is followed by Webber with 139 points.

Race day of the 2011 Hungarian GP will be Sunday, July 31, 2011.
