F1 2011 Results: Sebastian Vettel Wins Formula 1 European Grand Prix In Valencia

F1 2010 World Champion Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Renault wins the 2011 Formula 1 Europe Grand Prix at the Valencia Circuit on Sunday, June 26, 2011, according to F1.com.

Vettel‘s time after 57 laps is 1:46.179. Fernando Alonso of Ferrari came in second at 1:44.328. Vettel‘s RBR-Renault teammate, Mark Webber, came in at third, 27.2 secs behind.

The Europe win is the sixth victory of the season for Vettel. He earlier won in Australia, Malaysia, Turkey, Spain and Monaco. Vettel now has a commanding 186 Driver’s Championship points. He is way ahead of second place shared by Jensen Button of McLaren-Mercedes and Webber who both has 109 points. Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes is in fourth place with 97 points and Alonso in fifth with 87 points.

RBR-Renault now has 295 points to stay on top of the Constructors standings. McLaren-Mercedes is in second place with 206 and Ferrari in third with 129 points.

Formula 1 will now head into Great Britain for the 2011 Santander British Grand Prix on July 8-10, 2011.
