F1 2011 Hungarian GP Result: Button Wins In Budapest On Race Day

British driver Jenson Button of McLaren-Mercedes beats F1 driver’s championship leader Sebastian Vettel of RBR-Renault in the Formula One 2011 Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest on Sunday, July 31, 2011.

F1.com reports that Button passed the checkered flag 3.5 seconds ahead of Vettel. Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton finished the race in third and fourth place respectively. It was Button‘s second win of the F1 2011 season.

Another Red Bull driver, Mark Webber, finished in fifth place after Hamilton passed him at the 64th lap.

Vettel increases his lead in the F1 driver’s championship standings with 234 points. Webber retains second place with 149 championship points. McLaren-Mercedes‘s Hamilton is in third with 146 points, only a point ahead of Ferrari‘s Alonso.

The next race will be a 44 lap in Belgium on August 26-28. It will be held in Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
